First, go to Kol — at the weapon shop, there’s a blacksmith who says he can restore it. Next, go to Cantlin and talk to the scholar on the second floor of the house belonging to the family who once kept the Echo Flute. Then, go to the Church in Tantegel, head to the second floor, and talk to the prisoner there. Finally, go to Craggy Cave and pick up the ore lying on the ground. Return to the blacksmith to restore the sword.
The Sword of Erdrick will already be with you at this point in the game — it’s the “Faded Sword.” To restore it, you must first deliver the Sphere of Light to the Dragonlord's Great-Grandson, and then he will ask you to search for all the pieces of Erdrick’s Armor. Once you do that, you can start the quest to restore the sword.
