Multishot is best used on ranged weapons with single shot since they deal higher damage. This enchantment does not have a damage penalty so having five arrows with high damage would make the weapon deadlier, especially at point-blank.

I prefer getting this enchantment on the Harp Crossbow, each arrow has a chance trigger the effect, up to a total of 25 arrows if all the 5 initial arrows activate the effect

Multishot + fireworks arrow is the best. Can clear mobs easy and can also deal 30-40% damage on bosses if it hits at point-blank range.
