Grounded Difficulty is the toughest difficulty you can play on in The Last of Us Part 1. Read on to learn what changes when selecting this difficulty and if it is available in The Last of Us Part II.

What is Grounded Difficulty?
Grounded Difficulty was a game mode that ramps up the difficulty of the campaign in The Last of Us 1. It is a part of the DLC that was added long after the release of the prequel. This difficulty makes the game extremely punishing by making the enemies way stronger and your weapons weaker. This also changes the availability of the ammunition and resources you can find in the game.
Also, playing on this difficulty removes the HUD while playing. This includes removing the health bar and how many bullets you have, making the game more difficult, and forcing you to play more cautiously to give you a whole new experience of the game.

Is There A Grounded Mode in TLOU 2?
Sadly, there is no Grounded Difficulty in the Last of Us Part II right now. There is still no news about this yet, but similar to the prequel, the Grounded Difficulty might be added later on in the game, along with the possible DLCs that could release in the future.
