This is a walkthrough for Side Quest (Odd Job) 17: Chocobo Search in Final Fantasy 7 Remake (FF7R). This guide will explain where to find each Chocobo, how to unlock this quest, and rewards for completing it!

Chocobo Search Walkthrough

Objective
1 Speak with Sam in the Sector 5 Slums to begin the quest.
2 Look for the Chocobo in Nuts 'n' Bolts Hills and battle with the Rust Drake.

3 Look for the Chocobo in Sanctuary Way (No Battle)
Note: If you have already started the quest Tomboy Bandit, you can go to the church and speak with Kyrie while you are there.

4 Battle with three Trypapolis while looking for the Chocobo at Collapsed Expressway - Old Bypass.

5 After finding all of the Chocobos, you will receive a Sam's Delivery Lifetime Pass from Sam.

How to Beat Trypapolis - Key Points

  • Avoid attacking it when it uses Dance, or it will create a clone
  • Focus on one at a time to Stagger them and take them out
  • They resist Physical and Magic attacks, so use Poison to deal consistent damage
  • Use Silence to prevent them from using Aeroga
