No.18: MP Consumption
Magical efficacy has been shown to be proportional to MP consumption. Could research into a wide variety of magical invocations reveal that the production of MP cost-reducing materia is within reach? Futher field data required to confirm fypothesis.
Master all 12 types of magic materia.
You can receive the MP Absorption Materia for completing this mission.
MP Consumption requires you to master (max out the levels) for all twelve types of magic materia. These will level up by gaining AP in battle while they are equipped. Make sure that the materia you want to level up is equipped on to a character who you will be using in battle!
If you want to clear this mission the easy way, we suggest first clearing the game, at which point you will gain a 3x AP bonus. If you don't have this bonus, mastering all 12 materia will be a huge time consumer. You can level up the materia you use as you play the story, then come back to this battle report after defeating the final boss.
Another thing that is vital to mastering your materia is the AP Up materia. This will give a 2x AP bonus to whatever materia it is linked to. In the equipment page, a weapon or armor with a materia slot like this ◯-◯ indicates that you can link materia in those slots, so put both the AP Up and Magic Materia you will master in these slots.
This makes AP farming way more efficient, and we do not recommend AP Grinding to anyone who doesn't have this materia yet.
To get the AP Up Materia, you first need to get the Pedometer Materia in Chapter 14, then equip it and take 5,000 steps with it equipped. Be sure and equip it as soon as you find it.
