Worth a try? Uhmm you literally have to kill it to proceed the game. You dont try, you do it.

Well, potions are meant to be used. Chugging them here is better than having 99 potions when you fight Sephiroth.

I wonder who thought of placing a shield generator there
The shield generator on its anus is pretty hard to hit. It's so small and you gotta really get in it's rear just to hit it. It's the weakest part of the fight imo.
If I haven't seen the post from the official twitter, I would likely do that.

This first boss battle is intense! Took a while before defeating it
Which is a good thing since few rpg players wants a boring challengeless game.
The Weapons will probably be on steroids when they're added in the remake
It is pretty challenging, but it has its flaws. It's a bit of a bullet sponge if you ask me. But it doesn't take away that you need a basic understanding of the introduced mechanics. Really good design to introduce the game to the players!
Ruby and Emerald are the only strong bosses in the original version but in the remake, the first boss already puts up a fight.
Those are bad news!
