Compare them to some of the male characters like Johnny, the reporter or even just the wimpy Shinra soldiers the ladies get a pretty shining representation throughout the entire game. Also keep in mind that even the original game was pushing social boundaries all the way back in 1997 with the whole Wall Mart cross dressing sequence.
Seriously, just about every female character in this game is awesome, smart or bad ass. Tifa - Entrepreneur & kickboxing master Aerith - Fearless, smart & eternal optimist. Jesse - Tech & Bomb master with a 1 hit death kick. Scarlett - Head of Shinras weapons division. Madam M - Entrepreneur & high ranking gang member. Muriel - Well respected elder in Sector 7. Mireille aka Angel of the Slums - Master thief and information broker.
Why is Johnny not on here anywhere? Basically every other character is. Poor guy.
