To dodge, simply use your directional keys together with the dodge button. This allows you to roll that you can use to evade enemy attacks.

Tips for Dodging Attacks

Check for Overweight Equipment

If you cannot successfully dodge an attack, check to see if your equipment is over the equipment weight limit. Having overweight equipment affects your character's movements and slows down both attacks and dodges.

Earth Virtue Raises Weight Capacity

You can increase your weight capacity to avoid going over the equipment weight by leveling up your Earth Virtue. Leveling up this virtue also affects the amount of Spirit gained when deflecting an attack.

Timing and Direction Matters

Pressing the dodge buttons aren't always enough to successfully evade enemy attacks. It is important to dodge at the right moment when an enemy swings for an attack, and roll towards the right direction opposite the enemy's swing.

Dodging too early or too late towards the wrong direction may make you even more vulnerable to enemies.
