Aoye Movesets

Normal Attacks

Arm Strike

Aoye raises its arm and strikes the ground. This move can either be quick or have no delay. During its telegraph, Aoye's head doesn't move.

Arm Sweep

Aoye raises its arm and makes a wide, sweeping attack that can be either slow or fast. Aoye's head moves a lot more when he's powering up to perform this attack.

Back Attacks

Back Pummel

When you are behind Aoye, it will sometimes perform a barrage of light attacks. When you see its tentacles posture upwards, that's when it is about to perform this attack.

Sweeping 180

When Aoye turns its attention back to you, it will perform a sweeping attack while turning 180 degrees to face you.

Long Range Attacks

Long Jump

Aoye slams both its arms on the ground and jumps forward into the air, and lands straight on you with a body slam. You can block this with a parry.

Critical Blows

Quick Critical Stab

Aoye raises its arm for a split second and performs a quick critical blow stab. Its arm briefly glows red, so best to dodge out of the way.

Rush Attack

Aoye digs both arms into the earth, then lunges forward at you at high speed.

Grab Attack

Aoye reveals 4 skinny tentacles from its chest, then lunges forward and tries to grab you. This attack can be avoided with a parry.

How to Beat Aoye (General Tips)

Let Hong Jing Aggro from the Front

Bring along Hong Jing as your companion and let her attack the enemy from the front, while you circle around the back and do damage from there.

Take Advantage of its Body Slam to Attack

Aoye is vulnerable for a while after it performs its long range body slam. Wail into the boss with several attacks before it gets a chance to recover.

Keep Your Distance

Aoye has a few unpredictable attacks so it's good to keep your distance and only punish it after parrying an easy attack.
