How to Upgrade Equipment

Upgrade Weapons and Armor Through the Blacksmith

You can upgrade your equipment by talking to Zhu Xia the Blacksmith and selecting the Weapon or Armor that you want her to upgrade. You can also buy and sell equipment to the Blacksmith.

Unlock the Blacksmith after Defeating the First Boss

You can first meet the Blacksmith by the rocky roadside right after defeating Zhuyan, the first boss in Part 2, the Two Chivalrous Heroes. Interact with Zhu Xia the Blacksmith a couple of times and she will open her services to you.

Use Required Materials to Upgrade

To upgrade your equipment, you will need a certain amount of Copper and materials that depend on the type of weapon or armor upgrade level you need.

For the most part, weapons require steel to be upgraded, and armor require leather. You can view an equipment's required material for upgrade on the right side of your menu.

Increases Your Attack Stats

Upgrading weapons will improve your attack stats and bonuses, shown in the Attack Power and Base Attack tabs, and the Attack Bonus bar.

This is the best way to gain impressive stat boosts and good quality equipment without having to scour for rare weapons or armor.

How to Get Weapon Upgrade Materials

Obtain from Clearing Sub Battlefields

You can obtain materials needed for equipment upgrades from clearing side missions and Sub Battlefields. Each Sub Battlefield grants different materials and the number of materials you get as rewards vary as well.

Make sure to check the mission details before accepting to get the materials you need.
