Darkness Over the Hanshui River All Flag Locations

Battle Flag 1

①	The first Battle Flag will be located at the right side of the camp at the beginning of the mission.

Battle Flag 2

①	Continue ahead through the first Battle Flag past the puddle as you will need to untie the boat.
②	After untying the boat, return to the area before the puddle and use the boat to cross the water.
③	Before you can raise the second banner you will need to defeat the enemy that resembles a crocodile.Drop down the ladder then raise the second Battle Flag.
④	After defeating the crocodile, go ahead and raise the second Battle Flag.

Battle Flag 3

①	Enter the ship to the right with the hole and climb up the ladder.
②	Proceed to the small steps that go up and climb the wall.
③	Drop down where the ladder is positioned and continue to the end of the ship. The third Battle Flag will be in this location.

Marking Flag 1

①	Turn around and drop down the ladder then continue through the boats. As you pass through, there will be another boat you can untie to reveal a shortcut.
②	Enter the boat where the warlock is positioned then exit through the end. The first Marking Flag will be in this area.

Marking Flag 2

①	Exit the ship and proceed outside where you will have to climb the ruins of a broken ship.
②	Continue walking on the ship and go down the slope that turns right.
③	Enter the first floor of the ship and head to the doorway on the right where there is a ladder.
④	Climb up the ladder and raise the second Marking Flag in the corner.

Marking Flag 3

①	After raising the second Marking Flag, exit through the doorway jump across to the boat.
②	Drop down the ladder then continue to the bridge that leads into the ship.
③	Enter the ship and make you way to the other end where you will climb a ladder.
④	At the top of the ladder, take the bridge on the left that leads to another ship.
⑤	Drop down the ship then continue on the path that cuts through a boat with no roof.
⑥	Continue on the path past the two flags then head to the further pier.
⑦	Climb the side of the boat with the white paint and raise the third Marking Flag in the room to the left.

Marking Flag 4

①	Exit the boat and head back to the area with the flags you passed earlier.
②	Continue moving through the flags and past the stone stairs.
③	Turn right and move past the rubble and raise the fourth Marking Flag.

Marking Flag 5 and Battle Flag 4

①	Head back to the stone stairs you just passed then proceed to the house at the top.
②	Climb the ladder inside the house and at the top, turn around and exit the room.
③	The fifth marking flag will be on a rooftop you will need to jump to.
④	Jump back to the room with the ladder and exit through the other direction. The fourth Battle Flag will be just after the short bridge.

Battle Flag 5

①	Drop down to the right of the fourth Battle Flag and continue across the wooden bridge to the left.
②	Keep going forward until you see a large gate to your left.
③	Enter the gate and defeat the enemies to raise the fifth Battle Flag.

Marking Flag 6

①	Climb up the wooden scaffolding behind the fifth Battle Flag.
②	Drop down to the area with the enemy with wings.
③	Defeat this enemy and raise the sixth Marking Flag.

Marking Flag 7

①	Open the double doors then untie the boat to your right.
②	Continue on the path to the left just along the river then turn left at the end.
③	Go past the water demon but not through the two houses. Climb the wooden scaffolding on the left and up the multiple roofs.
④	Continue to the left of the highest roof and raise the seventh Marking Flag on the balcony of the house.

Battle Flag 6

①	Drop down from the balcony where the seventh Marking Flag is then cross to the other side by way of the small boat in the water.
②	The sixth Battle Flag will be up the small steps to the left.
③	You can enter through the doors and up the temple to begin the boss fight with Sun Jian. Do note that this door can only be opened from the other side. See Marking Flag 8 to see how to open the door.

Marking Flag 8

①	Proceed to the path on the right of the sixth Battle Flag.
②	Continue straight until you see some stairs to your left.
③	Continue up the steps and straight on the path that curves left to raise the eighth Marking Flag.
④	In order to open the door by Battle Flag 6, instead of going straight to Marking Flag 8 turn left at the top of the small steps and continue through the town to the temple area then open the doors.

Dragon Vein Essence Location

From the sixth Battle Flag, jump across to the house on the left. Open the chest to get the Dragon Vein Essence.

Golden Cicada Shell Location

From the starting area of the mission, turn right and go past the puddle as well as the area where you untied the boat. Keep moving forward until you reach the edge of a boat then drop down to get the Golden Cicada Shell.

Shitieshou Location

From the location of Battle Flag 5, turn around enter the broken house where you can see the Shitieshou.

Tablet Location 1

The first tablet, Brocade Sail Pirate's Scribblings, is on the same boat where Marking Flag 3 is located. Drop down the front of the boat then head to the other end and open the chest to retrieve it.

Tablet Location 2

As you make your way to Marking Flag 8 from Battle Flag 6, enter the first house on the left to get the Xiangyang Townswoman's Diary.

Darkness Over the Hanshui River Strategies and Tips

Be Careful As You Pass Over Boats

On your way to the first Marking Flag, be careful as you move through the small boats as you will die if you fall in the water. As you can't swim in this game, move carefully in this area and be mindful of any enemy attacking.

Untie Boats As You Go

During this mission, there will be many boats you can untie to let you move forward. These boats also act as a shortcut so any time you have the chance, untie the boats.

Perform Fatal Strikes in the Latter Part of the Mission

During the latter stages of this mission, there will be higher areas you can head to and to have a positional advantage. When you get to these areas, you can perform Fatal Strikes to have an easier time fighting enemies.

Darkness Over the Hanshui River Boss Guides

Sun Jian

Sun Jian's attack patterns different from the enemy tigers you encounter but their movement is similar. Sun Jian will also have a lot of charge attacks so observe these attacks to get the timing you need to retaliate.
