List of Contents
To use a Martial Art, you need to have enough Spirit in your Spirit Gauge. The amount of Spirit needed varies between Martial Arts and Weapons; check in the menu to see how much you need to use the Martial Art you want.
You can reduce the Spirit needed by equipping certain weapons and armor that have buffs to lower Spirit consumption, as well as leveling up your Fire Virtue.

Some weapons have two Martial Arts; there are specific buttons that need to be pressed to use the corresponding Martial Arts.
Landing a Martial Arts attack on an enemy allows you to gain Morale Points, causes their Morale Rank to go down, and lowers their Spirit Gauge.
Lowering an enemy's Morale Rank causes you to deal higher damage and receive less damage to that enemy, and sufficiently lowering their Spirit allows them to be struck by a powerful Fatal Strike.
Morale and Fortitude Effects and How to Increase
Martial Arts are special attacks attached to melee weapons that consume Spirit when used. Weapons of rarity 1 and 2 have one Martial Art, while weapons of rarity 3, 4, and 5 have two Martial Arts.
The Martial Arts for most weapons are random, and Martial Arts can only be found in their assigned weapon types. There are a few unique Martial Arts that can only be found with their one specific corresponding weapon.
