★★★		 Earth is the primary stat for this build, so invest the most levels on this virtue. Earth increases the damage of Earth-scaling weapons and also the amount of Spirit gained when deflecting.

★★		 Wood is there to add some HP and some survivability to this build, and it also decreases the amount of Spirit lost when taking damage.

The Hundred-Forged Sabres weapon scales with Earth extremely well and is a good light weapon to use, especially when enemies have very fast movesets that large weapons can't keep up with.

The Heavy Cavalry Spear on the other hand, has much higher damage and will be your main damage-dealer, especially since it scales with Earth fantastically.

While you're still working to obtain these weapons, a Polearm Podao or a Bronze Halberd would be ideal early-to-mid-game weapons.

Ranged combat isn't this build's specialty, so choose whichever bow works for you. However, we recommend the Bamboo Bow for its extra Spirit Damage and the Tiger Hunting Bow for its superior set bonuses, which add to your attack damage.

This build's spells are geared towards mitigating damage, and drawing enemy aggro away from your party. Lion's Roar is essential to this build, for gaining enemy aggro.

Bolster your defense with both Rock Toughness and Illusionary Shell, and recover whatever HP you can with Absorb Vitality.

Qilin's passive effects grant reduced Spirit consumption of Earth-based spells, and also boost defensive capabilities. Qilin's active abilities also work to bolster your defense by decreasing damage received and increasing Spirit recovery.

How to Play

Use Lion's Roar to Aggro Enemies

At the onset of battle, use Lion's Roar to get all enemies' attention. Try to maintain this aggro to let your party members destroy the enemy from behind.

Deflect Easy Attacks and Block the Rest

Blocking too much will bring down your Spirit fast, so make sure to get used to deflecting in order to parry all easy attacks and all critical blows. Only block when attacks are difficult to parry, like multi-hit combos, and swift attacks that don't have a predictable telegraph.

Boost Defense with Spells

Rock Toughness and Illusionary Shell are there to increase your defense for longer battles, like bosses. Use these occasionally to keep your survivability up.
