Dong Zhuo First Phase Movesets

Normal Attacks

Triple Spear Lunge

A series of three spear lunges that Dong Zhuo uses when standing at a medium distance.

Throwing Knives

Dong Zhuo throws knives that deal elemental damage at the player. At around 70% HP, this attack can be used up to four times in a row.

Aerial Spear Throw

Dong Zhuo jumps into the air and throws his spear into the ground beneath him.

Critical Blows

Spear Sweep

Dong Zhuo brandishes jumps into the air and brandishes his spear before performing a downwards spear sweep.

Grab Rush

Dong Zhuo rushes towards the player in an attempt to perform a grab attack.

Grab Rush Combo

A combination of Dong Zhuo's Grab Rush and Spear Sweep. Dong Zhuo will perform two Grab Rushes before finishing this combo with a Spear Sweep.

Slash Wave

Dong Zhuo throws a wave of red energy towards the player that returns to him after reaching a set distance.

How to Beat Dong Zhuo (General Tips)

Don't guard the throwing knives

It is better to avoid the throwing knives instead of guarding them as they deal elemental damage. For the quadruple throwing knives, dodge the 2nd one, while deflecting the 1st, 3rd, and 4th one as shown above.

Bait and punsh the Triple Spear Lunge

Dong Zhuo has a tendency towards using his Triple Spear Lunge when you are standing a medium distance away from him. This attack leaves him wide open after his third lunge.

Don't attack immediately after his third lunge as there is a slight delay with its hitbox. Instead wait just a moment before punishing this attack.

Keeping a medium distance

By keeping at the right distance from Dong Zhuo, it also becomes easier to deflect his Grab Rush, as you will be able to easily tell that it is coming.

Slash Waves are the same

Although Dong Zhuo himself has two different animations for Slash Wave, both versions of this attack have the same timings. By successfully deflecting the first wave, your invincibility window will protect you from the returning wave.
