When you're a distance away, Suanyu will hop into the air and throw projectiles at you with its wings. This is easily avoided with a block or parry.
When you're at close range, Suanyu will sometimes perform a 360 spin, attacking with its head and tail. This single movement can be parried with a single deflect.

Suanyu hops into the air, charges up with lightning, then sends pillars of lightning from its wings.
Suanyu hops into the air and swoops down towards the player.
Suanyu conjures a projectile of red lightning and sends it towards the player.
The fight against Suanyu becomes significantly easier if you've placed abundant Battle Flags and Marking Flags since its attacks are similar to those of the enemies found throughout the main story.
Both Red Lightning and Charge Dive are easier to parry if you retreat a few paces during these attacks.
