How to Use a Fatal Strike

Deplete an Enemy's Spirit to Perform a Fatal Strike

For Fatal Strikes performed in combat, you need to deplete your enemy's Spirit Gauge by deflecting attacks as well as using Martial Arts and Spirit Attacks on them. When their spirit has been depleted, you will see them start staggering and glowing red.

Approach the staggering enemy and press the Fatal Strike button (Triangle in the PS5 and Y Key in the PC) to inflict a significant amount of damage on them.

Sneak Towards an Unsuspecting Enemy to Perform a Sneak Attack

A Sneak Attack, officially known as Shadow Strike, is a Fatal Strike that is dealt outside of combat. To perform a Sneak Attack on an enemy, you must quietly approach them without attracting attention either by coming from the rear or from above.

Sneak Attacks from above can be performed by jumping from a higher altitude and quickly pressing the Fatal Strike button. Sneak Attacks from above generally do less damage than Fatal Strikes done on lower ground.

Sneak Attacks from the rear can be done by quickly closing the distance on the target from behind them. Master an enemy's set patterns so that you can quietly approach them, then press the Fatal Strike button to perform the Sneak Attack.

It is recommended to level up your Water Virtue to decrease the difficulty of being detected when sneaking.

Fatal Strikes are Powerful Attacks That Lowers an Enemy's Morale Rank

A Fatal Strike is a lethal blow that deals a significant amount of damage to a defenseless enemy and lowers their Morale Rank.

The two types of Fatal Strikes are those performed against a staggered enemy who has their Spirit Gauge depleted, and Sneak Attacks, which are Fatal Strikes done by sneaking towards an unsuspecting enemy and attacking them by surprise.
