This is a full list of tips, tricks, and guides for beginners in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty! Read on to see everything you need to learn when starting the game as well as all best tips for your game progression!
Morale management is vital in making your mission runs much easier. The higher your morale, the more easier fights will be. In general, fighting enemies with lower Morale than you will be easier as you can deal increased damage to them but the opposite goes true! Make sure to avoid fighting enemies with higher morale than you as much as possible unless fighting from an advantageous position such as sneak attacks!
It is essential to raise Battle Flags that you encounter on every mission. These serve as checkpoints that you can respawn to if you die as well as replenishing your HP and Dragon Pots.
It doesn't matter what weapon it is, as long as you found a weapon that you're comfortable with, immediately upgrade it to +3. The materials needed to reach this upgrade threshold is easy to acquire and will give you a nice damage boost while you explore the game and possibly find a new weapon to replace the one you have.
Your Ring Pommel Sabre which is the starting weapon is a decent weapon to use. It has a balanced moveset with a decent deflection rate and damage and is a good weapon to stick with if you haven't found a different weapon to change to.
Wood Virtue is the best early game stat to increase and depending on your playstyle, even for the rest of the game. All stats will increase your HP but Wood Virtue gets to increase it more. Other stats will increase your HP by 3 per level but Wood Virtue increases it by 7 which makes your character sturdier and be able to survive otherwise lethal attacks from enemies.
Once you get to chapter 3, you'll be able to rescue an NPC that can respec your current stats. You'll be able to change your stats to a different set to cater for a new build that you can possibly make and its all for free so don't hesitate to invest in survivability stat first then changing it to a different one later on!
The Dragon's Cure Pot is an item that you can use to replenish your character's HP. While it is a consumable, its contents can be restored by multiple ways. Upgrading the Dragon's Cure Pot will greatly increase your survivability from the missions ahead!
To upgrade the Dragon's Cure Pot, you'll need to obtain and use Dragon Vein Essences and Dragon Vein Crystals. Dragon Vein Essences increases the amount of HP healed per use while the Dragon Vein Crystal increases the maximum amount of uses you can use the potion.
How to Upgrade and Refill the Dragon Cure Pot
Aside from highlighting your objective's direction, the Compass can also reveal the location of neaby enemies! Use this to avoid ambushes whenever you progress your current mission! This will require a Warfrare Classics accessory which has the special effect Enemy Detection.
You lose a potion of your Genuine Qi whenever you die to an enemy and unless you defeat the enemy that has previously slain you before dying again, those genuine Qi can be permanently lostAvoid fighting disadvantageous fights and pick out your battles wisely!
In case of unavoidable battles with groups, make sure to attempt to enter the fight by dealing high amounts of damage to a single target via a sneak attack. This can greatly swing the battle in your favor by starting the fight with one less enemy or with one severely wounded enemy in theirs!
