The red arrow you can see on your compass refers to the area you need to go to progress the mission. This is essentially an objective marker as you will need to follow this arrow to complete the mission.
The green dots on your compass refer to the allies in your current party. Whether they're NPCs you recruit or you're playing online with a friend, the green marker helps you keep track of their location at any given time.
Beside the compass and starting from the top, you can see your Fortitude Rank, as well as the current Battle Flags and Marking Flags you have unlocked. Since the compass doesn't discern whether an objective is above or below you, the compass displays the approximate location of said flags.
Battle Flag and Marking Flag Difference
The orange marking refers to the location of your revenge target. Revenge targets are enemies that have successfully killed you in battle. This allows you to exact your vengeance on these enemies as well as retrieve lost Morale Rank experience.
