Defeat Waves of Enemies to Complete the Side Mission

There are no Battle Flags and Marking Flags in The Crouching Dragon’s Trial. Instead, you will need to defeat 10 waves of enemies and bosses with a high morale rank.

You can restart in the middle of the wave if you lose

If you lose halfway through the wave, you can restart the battle in the same wave. For example, if you lose against Zhuyan, you will restart from that wave instead of the beginning.

Use Qinglong as Your Divine Beast

It is recommended to use Qinglong as your Divine Beast for this side mission. Summoning this Divine Beast allows you to restore your health, making it useful in case you no longer have any Dragon Cure Pots to use.

Be sure to strengthen your Dragon Cure Pot using the Dragon Vein Crystals and Dragon Vein Essences that you have collected.

These items increases the number of Cure Pots you have and the recovery amount respectively, increasing the chances of surviving each wave.

Deflect Zhuyan's Backflip Charging Attack

Many of Zhuyan's attacks have a slow buildup, which you can time easily with a Deflect. In particular, you can deflect his backflip charging attack to reduce his spirit gauge at a massive amount and inflict addtional damage.

Keep Your Distance and Deflect Suanyu's Lightning Attack

Suanyu's attacks are difficult to deflect at close range, so it is recommended to fight him at a distance and use a hit-and-run tactic.

One way to deplete his health is to deflect the lightning attack at the right time. This will stun the boss for a few seconds, giving you time to follow up with more attacks before keeping distance again.

Deflect Aoye's Jumping Attack

Aoye uses a jumping attack that has a slow buildup if you keep your distance. There is a noticeable lag after the boss hits the ground, so be sure to time your deflect correctly.

In addition, the boss may use a followup attack wherein it slams its hairs on the ground. Be sure to move away from the vicinity of the hairs to avoid taking damage. and only attack at the side.

Deflect the Headless Corpse's Jumping Slam Attack

The headless corpse boss uses its burning fist to perform a jumping slam attack that you can easily deflect. Use this opportunity to lower its Spirit Gauge further and perform a Fatal Blow.

Deflect Leishi's Jumping Attack

Leishi has a long windup attack wherein it jumps in the air and slams its hammer on the ground. You can deflect this attack easily and use Martial Arts to counterattack.
