・Human General's Leg Armor ・Human General's Bracer ・Human General's Light Armor ・Taichi Pestle |
・Long Wind-up Swing ・Wind-up Swipe ・Back Jump Swipe |
Zhang Liang raises his weapon behind him before winding-up for a swipe coming from your left.
Similar to Long Wind-up Swipe, except Zhang Liang will no longer raise his weapon before winding-up to swipe.
Zhang Liang will jump backwards before executing a quick, forward slam.
Focus on properly timing your parries against Zhang Liang's normal attacks. Attacks against Zhang Liang in this phase will cause him to flinch. But don't get greedy and attack him more than three times.
・Close Range Critical Blow ・Rush Attack Critical Blow |
The critical blow that Zhang Liang uses depend mainly on his distance from you. His close range attack can be parried by timing your Deflect the moment his weapon touches the ground.
When at a distance, Zhang Liang will favor the use of his rush attack. This critical blow consists of him readying his weapon and then rushing towards you. Time your Deflect a moment after he stops infront of you.
・Earth Spike ・Lunge Rush |
If you are keeping your distance, Zhang Liang may attempt to attack you with a fast moving Earth Spike attack.
This attack can easily be dodged by running sideways. Alternatively, if you are familiar with the timing, this attack can also be Deflected.
Zhang Liang may also attempt to hit you with a Lunge Rush if there is enough distance between the two of you. This attack cannot be dodged, so brace yourself and prepare to Deflect it instead.
・Arm Thrust Critical Blow ・Counter Critical Blow |
An attack where Zhang Liang lunges his arm towards the player. This critical blow is relatively easy to deflect due to its slow wind-up.
During his second phase, Zhang Liang will use a deadlier version of his rush attack. Additionally, if Zhang Liang's HP is low, he will attempt to counter successful parries with an arm grab.
In Wo Long, both players and enemies have a Morale Rank that plays a significant role in their strength. Essentially, a higher Morale Rank means you deal more damage, while also taking less damage. So don't neglect raising your morale.
Morale and Fortitude Effects and How to Increase
By landing successive attacks against enemies, the Spirit Gauge will slowly begin to fill. There is no point to filling the gauge passed its upper-limit, so make sure to utilize Spirit Attacks once the gauge is full.
Spirit Attacks against enemies have the added effect of lowering both the upper and lower limits of their Spirit Gauges.
Once an opponent's Spirit Gauge has been lowered enough, they will stagger. A Spirit Attack performed on a staggered enemy will change into what is known as a Fatal Strike.
Fatal Strikes work the same way as Spirit Attacks do, in that they do more damage the higher your Spirit Gauge is.
The Divine Beast Gauge at the bottom right of the screen will slowly fill-up as you land attacks. Once it begins to glow, pressing the △ and ◯ buttons will trigger this special attack.
In the Zhang Liang boss battle, reaching this point will result in an instant victory.
