This is a guide on Burial Flags in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. Read on to learn the effects of Burial Flags, how to use them, and what the Vengeance mechanic is.
List of Contents
When you approach a Burial Flag, you will see the name of another player, which enemy killed them, and other details of their death.
Using a Burial Flag temporarily increases your Morale Rank by 2 for 30 seconds.
Note that this will eventually wear off; you can check how much time remains for the boost at the bottom of the screen.
Morale and Fortitude Effects and How to Increase
To use a Burial Flag, you will need to offer a charge of your Dragon Cure Pot. Upon offering, your character will consume that Dragon Cure Pot charge, restoring their health.
How to Upgrade and Refill the Dragon Cure Pot
Using the Burial Flag also gives a Dragon Cure Pot charge to the player whose name is in the Burial Flag, if their Dragon Cure Pot isn't full. This doesn't benefit you, but it's nice to be on the receiving end!
Approach a Burial Flag and press the Interact button to use it. Doing this will make you consume a Dragon Cure Pot](/games/Wo-Long-Fallen-Dynasty/archives/406903) charge, even if your health is full.
The main use for a Burial Flag is the Vengeance mechanic. You can exact Vengeance for the Burial Flag player by defeating the enemy that killed them. The Burial Flag will disappear after you do so.
Burial Flags can be recognized as flags with a purple glow, and they denote the locations where other players died to enemies. They will appear only when online play is enabled, and if you haven't used a Memorial Tablet to hide them.
The Burial Flag shows the fallen player's details of death, their Morale Rank and level when they died, the enemy that killed them, and the date of death.
Burial Flags show a fallen player's details so that you can exact Vengeance for their death. You will have successfully avenged them by killing the Vengeance Target, which will make the Burial Flag disappear.
This enemy will usually be around the area not far from the Burial Flag.
Taking Vengeance won't be easy, since the enemy will have a higher Morale Rank.
Interacting with the Burial Flag temporarily raises your own Morale Rank in preparation of fighting this enemy, though this is not necessary! Sometimes that Dragon Cure Pot charge is better over the temporary boost.
This is the main reason why you would want to approach Burial Flags and take Vengeance: the various bonuses that come with it after you are successful.
Hunting Vengeance targets is the main way to farm Accolades, which you can use to purchase items!
How to Get and Farm Accolades
If you don't like seeing Burial Flags in your playthrough, you can use the Memorial Tablet; this will hide all Burial Flags and Vengeance Targets in the level. Using it again will bring them back.
Note that this doesn't carry over to other Missions; you will have to do this for every Mission.
Burial Flags and Vengeance targets only appear when you are online; if you don't want to have to use the Memorial Tablet every time, you can permanently opt from it by disabling online play in the menu.
