Sun Jian First Phase Movesets

Normal Attacks

Claw Rush

Sun Jian lunges forward and swipes the player with both claws.

Tail Whip Combo

A large AoE attack that consists of Sun Jian whipping his tail around twice.

Tail Flip

An upwards tail swipe that creates space between Sun Jian and the player.

War Stomp

A delayed stomp where Sun Jian raises his right leg before bringing it down on the player.

Claw Slash Combo

A right-left claw slash combo. Sun Jian will occassionally string an additional two slashes to this attack, totaling the number of attacks up to four.

Scorpion Thrust

An attack that starts off with a left claw swipe into a thrust from Sun Jian's bladed tail.

Tail Swipe

A single spinning tail swipe that hits a small area infront of Sun Jian.

Tail Spin

An attack denoted by Sun Jian jamming his tail into the ground infront of him, before violently twisting towards the player.

Critical Blows

Blade Uppercut → Grab

Sun Jian jams his tail into the ground behind him before thrusting it upwards towards the player. Sun Jian then follows up this attack with an attempt to grab the player.

Tiger's Roar → Rush

Sun Jian releases a roar and then rushes at the player.

How to Beat Sun Jian (General Tips)

Know your opennings

Sun Jian's attack strings are erratic and his oppenings are narrow. However, by waiting for the correct animations, you will be able to get a few attacks in before he can attack again.

If you see Sun Jian take a few steps forward after a normal attack, take it as an openning for some attacks.

Punish War Stomp

Sun Jian's War Stomp is always followed by a roar. This is an opportunity to punish and get get some free damage.
