This build is guaranteed to increase survivability in combat while allowing you to deliver powerful blows to eliminate tough enemies that you will encounter. This build will mainly focuses on the usage of Alchemy and Combat skills through out the game.

Synergy 1/5Synergy Branch: Alchemy
Makes the equipped Mutagens more effective to boost your Vitality.
Acquired Tolerance 1/3Acquired Tolerance Branch: Alchemy
Drastically boosts your Maximum toxicity to use more potions and decoctions for combat.
Refreshment 1/5Refreshment Branch: Alchemy
Increases the effectiveness of your Potions, giving you more healing for more survivability.
Strength Training 1/5Strength Training Branch: Combat
Strengthens your primary Strong attack to kill enemies quicker.
Crushing Blows 1/5Crushing Blows Branch: Combat
Improves your strong attacks and Adrenaline Point gain.

Try to complete as much Side Quests as you can, this will help you grow stronger even faster. Most Side Quest will give you better weapons and armors that can help you better prepare for the Main Quest.

Make it a habit to save your game after killing enemies. Saving your game everytime you progress is really important to prevent long backtracking if you suddenly die from something unexpected.

Patience in Combat

Always wait for the proper timing before executing your attacks or when attempting to parry enemy strikes. Do not try to spam your attacks hoping for staggers and quick kills. This will definitely make the fights a lot more difficult and will make you consume more healing items.
Rely on dodging and rolling to position yourself properly during fights. This technique is extremely useful, especially when fighting against large group of enemies.

Make sure that you always have your Quen up at all times. This will give you 1 guaranteed block for more survivability. Enemies on death march will deal a lot more damage and will have more health than the usual. This will make the duration of the fight much more longer which can cause you to make more mistakes.
