Delusion

Top Five Skills - Delusion.jpg
Delusion is one of the most important skills available in the game. It allows you to have more options during quest dialogues and get the best/easiest outcome for the story. Choosing the Delusion dialogue often gives you the most XP, as well as the option to not give away your coins to progress. In addition, this skill has the added bonus of powering up the effectiveness of Axii in battle, which will help land you tons of free hits in combat.

Focus

The ability Focus increases both your weapon damage and sign intensity, depending on your current Adrenaline Points. You can easily build up your up your Adrenaline Points by landing any kind of attack on enemies, making this skill a must have and extremely strong at any point in the game.

Fleet Footed

Fleet Footed greatly inceases your survivability, even on enemies that can kill you with a single blow. You can also unlock this ability very early in the game, making it the best defensive ability you can invest your skill points in early on.

Gourmet

You will be relying a lot on food items to regenerate your health early on in the game because items like decoctions and potions will not yet available. The ability Gourmet makes the food regeneration work significantly longer, and will provide you most of your healing until you are able to craft better health regenerating items.

Melt Armor

Top Five Skills - Melt Armor.jpg
Melt Armor weakens the enemy's armor permanently upon dealing damage with your Igni Sign. Having this effect with your Igni Sign makes your Fast Attacks extremely strong, even on powerful and armored monsters.

I think one of the skills i'd replace would be Gourmet. Really good early game i guess. But Quen active shield is much better and scaled pretty well into the late game.
