Slaying monsters and beasts is part of your job as a witcher and sometimes this difficult task rewards you with a Trophy from the monster which you can display on your horse. These Trophies you can equip gives you a bonus effect that can be helpful in the game.
There are multiple of Trophies that gives out the similar bonus effects which can be helpful in progressing the story. The most usefull effect among all the Trophies are the ones with the 10% Chance to Dismember. These Trophies are extremely useful because of its ability to instantly kill enemies when dismembered, especially when used with your sword's fast attacks.
Most trophies that you equip will only be displayed at the back of your horse as large sack with stains of blood. However, some Trophies displays the actual head of the enemy you killed. The best looking Trophy you can display in the game is definitely the Wyvern Trophy because of its cool looking V shaped head with 6 horns.
