How to Unlock Redania's Most Wanted

You will unlock this quest after finishing the main quest A Favor for Radovid.

This quest will fail when the player starts the quest The Isle of Mists.

Redania's Most Wanted Walkthrough

Objectives
1 Talk to the Witch Hunter at Philippa's hideout at Est Tayair, located north east of Oxenfurt.
2 Drop down into the cave then go down the stairs. Use your Witcher Sense and look at the wall right of the portal. Examine the highlighted spot and you will be rewarded with 50 XP.
3 Continue on and enter the portal to the left. Continue through the passage and when you reach the stairs, 2 Nekkers will attack. Kill them then go down the stairs. 1 more Nekker will be waiting at the bottom of the stairs.
4 Use Aard on the crystal next to the archway. It will activate the portal. Continue by entering the portal.
5 When talking to the Witch Hunter, you can use Axii dialogue choice (requires Delusion level 2) to peacefuly get the crystal and gain 40 XP. If you do not have access to Axii or you choose the other option, you will have to fist fight and beat the Witch Hunter.
6 Enter the next chamber. You will see an empty archway and behind it is a drop that will kill you. Turn around and place the crystal on the left wall. Use Aard on the crystal to activate the portal for you to enter.
7 After exiting the portal 3 Nekkers will attack you. Kill them.
8 To the left of the portal you came from will be a fissure. Go down into the fissure anad there will be 3 more Nekkers and the crystal power cell. Kill the Nekkers to get to the crystal.
9 Go back up the fissure and go into the next chamber, you will see another archway. Turn around and place the crystal on the left wall. Activate the crystal by using Aard on it and then enter the portal. You will receive 70 XP.
10 Head to the otherside of the chamber. An Ifrit will be guarding the next chamber. Kill it.
11 Go into the next room. Use your Witcher Sense and examine the room. There are broken megascopes at the south side of the room. On the ground nearby is a polished crystal. Pick it up.
12 Back track through the cave and go back to the witch hunters. If you tell them about the megascope crystal they will ask for it. Choose to keep the crystal. You will have to fight and kill 5 Witch Hunters.
If you choose to give it to them, you can go to Radovid but he will not give a reward.
13 Head to Oxenfurt port and talk to the marked soldier to talk to Radovid and give him the crystal for the reward.
(Optional) Bring the crystal to Triss in Novigrad, or to Yeneffer if the player has finished The Last Wish. This will allow you to see what was on the crystal, and give you the chance to give it to the sorceress you brought it to.

Who to Give the Crystal to

Giving the Crystal to the Witch Hunters

Choosing to give the crystal to the witcher hunters will prevent you from bringing it to a sorceress to see what was on the crystal.

You will also not receive a reward from Radovid, as the witch hunters will lie about Geralt getting the crystal.

Giving the Crystal to Triss or Yeneffer

Choosing to give the crystal to either of the sorcoress seems to be the best moral choice. Either of them will tell you that you have made the best choice. But you will not receive a reward from Radovid.

Giving the Crystal to Radovid

Radovid will be disappointed with Geralt for not bringing in Philippa, but nonetheless reward him for bringing in the crystal.

Best Choice

It is best to just give the crystal to Radovid for the reward. Giving it either to Radovid or the sorceress has no impact to either the story or gameplay. You can still bring the crystal to either of the sorceress and bring it to Radovid after.

After dropping into the cave, there will be a cracked wall behind you; use Aard on it to open it. Loot the corpse to obtain the Feline Silver Sword Diagram.

Fighting the Ifrit

Attacks

Melee Swings its arms. Slow and easy to dodge. Deals damage and knocks Geralt back.
Fire Ball Throws fireballs. Deals damage and causes burning debuff.
Fire Wave Strikes the ground in front of it, sending out a wave of fire. Deals damage and causes burning debuff.
Fire Slam Jumps and then slams the ground sending out a wave of fire around it. Deals damage and knock back..

Strategy

Beating it can be fairly simple if you follow this guide. When the Ifrit is on fire it will give you a burning debuff whenever you are near it. Use Aard or Northern Wind Bomb whenever it is on fire to put out the fire, allowing you to get near it to deal damage.

Use a Demitrium Bomb if you have one. It will disable the Fire Ball and Fire Wave attacks for the rest of the fight. Apply Elementa Oil for extra damage. Dodge its attacks which are slow and are telegraphed then hit it with a heavy attack for maximum damage.

Always prepare Aard in case it's about to ignite itself. When it starts defending itself with its arms, just use Aard to stun it and continue your attack.

Redania's Most Wanted is Worth it

You will also need to complete this quest and the side quests A Deadly Plot and An Eye for an Eye to be able to unlock the side quest Reason of State. The quest Reason of State will let you decide the outcome of the war and will even let you affect Ciri's ending.
