You Can Not

Unfortunately, Ivo will always fall to his death. It is a scripted event that the player can not influence in ay way.

Dwarf Locations

Ivo

Ivo is in the center of the waypoint at the top of a tall rock.

Gaspard

Gaspard can be found at the very top floor of the lighthouse to the southwest.

Ferenc

Ferenc is by the coast, below the Fiend that killed him.

Quest Tips

Objective 1 Tips

The quest Brothers in Arms: Velen will automatically be completed if the you have completed the questlines of both Keira Metz and Letho, then sent them both to Kaer Morhen.

Ermion and Zoltan will always accompany you when you ask them for help.

Objective 2 Tips

The game will warn you to save your game before heading into the mist. Heading into the mist will automatically fail most secondary quests if they are not completed yet.

Objective 7 Tips

Avoid sprinting when escorting Gaspard back to the hut, so that the distance between the two of you will stay the same.

Combat Strategies

Ekhidna (Sirens)

• Use your crossbow to quickly kill the Ekhidnas attacking your boat. You can do this while sailing the boat at the same time.

Tangalore (Foglet)

• Use the Moon Dust bomb to prevent them from going invisible.
• Coat your Silver Sword with Necrophage oil to deal bonus damage to them.
• Cast the Quen Sign to protect yourself from their surprise attacks.
• There are subtle movements in the fog which give away their position. A successful attack while they are invisible will reveal them and stagger them.

Harpies

• You can use your Crossbow, the Aard Sign, or a Grapeshot bomb to make them fall down, so you can attack them on the ground.
• Coat your Silver Sword in Hybrid Oil to deal bonus damage against them.

Bilge Hag (Water Hag)

• You can use the Nothern Wind bomb to freeze them and prevent them from going underground.
• Coat your Silver Sword in Necrophage Oil to deal bonus damage to them.
• Use the Igni Sign to set them alight and give yourself an opening to attack or use the Quen Sign to cleanse the mud that is blocking your vision.

Fiend

• Throw a Devil's Puffball bomb to poison them, since they are very weak to poison. Alternatively, use a Samum Bomb to heavily stagger them and give yourself a large opening to attack.
• Cast the Axii Sign on them whenever their eyes glow red and the screen starts to rumble. Doing this will interupt their casting of a skill that will make you go blind for a short period.
