How to Unlock Practicum in Advanced Alchemy
This quest can be unlocked outside the cave north of Gedyneith. You will come across a druid outside the cave. He will be talking to another druid. Listening to the conversation will unlock the quest.
You can also talk to Yolar at Gedyneith. Ask him about any master alchemists. Another way is by talking to Otta Bamber, located at Herbarlist's Hut.
Is Practicum in Advanced Alchemy Missable or Failable?
This quest can not be failed.
Practicum in Advanced Alchemy Walkthrough

| 1 | If you talked to Yolar or Otto Bamber to start the quest, find Gremist north of Gedyneith. |
| 2 | Talk to the druid and ask him about the man he was talking to |
| 3 | Talk to Gremist. |
| 4 | There will be 3 tasks that will be needed to be completed: ・Find a Pimpernel. ・Find an old spirit in the abandoned distillery. ・Find Fritjof and convince him to talk to Gremist. |
| 5 | Head to the marked location south of the Druid's Camp for the Pimpernel. |
| 6 | Once you reach the area you will need to use your Witcher Senses and examine the picked pimpernel plants. Be cautious as there is a pack of 7 white wolves nearby. |
| 7 | Use your Witcher Senses to find some horseshoe tracks nearby. |
| 8 | Follow the trail going up the hill to continue. If you follow the trail down you will encounter an Armored Arachas and a grave. |
| 9 | You will encounter a Succubus. You can choose to kill it or let it live. If you let her live, follow her to her lair for the Pimpernel. If you killed her, follow a scent trail to her lair. However you found the Pimpernel, you will receive 80 XP. |
| 10 | Head to the abandoned distillery on Hail Hill located south of where you find the Pimpernel. |
| 11 | Once you get to the Distillery, enter the cave. There will be 3 Alghouls on the hill above the distillery. |
| 12 | Enter the cave and kill the Cyclops. |
| 13 | Find Distiller's Letter for instructions inside the small shack. |
| 14 | Find the mash on the scaffolding left of the machinery. Pick it up. |
| 15 | Place the mash into the center vat and light the fire below it. Then head to the the right of the machine to find 2 levers. Pull the right then the left one to produce alcohol. Pick it up and earn 80 XP for your effort. |
| 16 | Head to Blandare to find Fritjof. Talk to him. |
| 17 | Follow Fritjof. |
| 18 | Protect Fritjof. You will have to kill 7 Foglets. Helping Fritjof will reward you with 80 XP |
| 19 | Return to Gremist. |
| 20 | Wait until the next day. It will take exactly 24 hours of waiting. Receive 80 XP, Sulfur, Alcohest, Han fiber, and Saltpeter for completing the quest. |
Practicum in Advanced Alchemy Tips and Strategies
Let the Succubus Live
If you would like to finish this quest quickly it is best to let the succubus live. Unless you are looking for Mutagens, there is no extra reward for killing her.
Fighting the Cyclops
The cyclops fight can be made easy by taking advantage of its slow speed. Keep close and circle behind it, attacking it whenever you can. Prepare to dodge its slow attack. If you see it jump up, dodge or roll away to evade its stomp attack.
