You can get this quest by talking to Triss Merigold at her hideout in Novigrad after finishing Count Reuven's Treasure.

![]() Talk to Triss Talk to Triss in her hideout located in Novigrad. Choose the dialogue choice Want to tell me something? and agree to help her to continue to the quest. |

![]() Find the Servant Go to the fishmarket marked southwest of Hierarch Square. Near the bridge will be a Townsman in blue with keys around his belt. Use your Witcher Senses to easily find the keys, then talk to the Townsman. |

![]() Follow the Servant Escort the servant safely to the next location. 3 Bandits will attack at the archway after crossing the bridge. Kill them then continue following the servant. Once you arrive at the designated location, a cutscene will occur where you will learn of the plan to save Albert Vegelbud during the masquerade ball. |

![]() Get Your Masks To begin your plan, you must first head to Elihal's shop located south of Tretogor Gate and buy a Fox mask for Triss then any of the three other masks for yourself. |

![]() Head Back to Triss Afterward, head to Triss back in her hideout and deliver her mask. A cutscene will occur. |

![]() Arrive at Vegelbud Residence After the cutscene, you'll immediately arrive at Vegelbud Residence. From here, you can either enter the Gwent tournament or immediately start your plan to save Albert. |

![]() Find the Croupier Find the Croupier beside the Gwent table at the right side of the Vegelbud Residence. Talk to him to enter the Gwent tournament. We recommend that you enter the tournament as this is the only place where you'll be able to acquire the winnable cards. |

![]() Play the First Opponent Your first opponent plays a Nilfgaardian Empire deck, and uses Close Combat and Tight Bond units, so add copies of Biting Frost to your deck to reduce the strength of those units. |

![]() Play the Second Opponent Your second opponent plays a Scoia'tael deck, making use of Muster and Agile units, as well as Commander's Horn and Weather cards. Make sure to prepare Biting Frosts and Impenetrable Fogs to negate the Commander's Horn. |

![]() Play the Final Opponent Your final opponent plays a Monsters deck, with lots of Close Combat and Muster units, which is amplified by your opponent's leader card, Eredin: Commander of the Red Riders, which places a Commander's Horn on the Close Combat row. Again, bring Biting Frosts to drastically reduce your opponent's points and take the win. |

![]() Find Ingrid Vegelbud Go to Ingrid marked on your map. Talk to her and learn where Albert is. |

![]() Find Albert Vegelbud Find Albert, who is wearing a panther mask. He will be located in the southern most marked area next to the field. Talk to him. |

![]() Sit on a Bench Sit on the bench marked in the garden outside the gate. A cutscene will occur between Triss and Geralt. |

![]() Find Triss Follow Triss inside the courtyard maze and find her at the very end. Another cutscene will occur where you'll be given the choice to kiss Triss or not. This will be the first requirement should you choose to romance Triss in your playthrough. Albert will then appear afterward. |

![]() Leave the Maze Leave the maze and head back to the courtyard. On your way out of the maze, 3 Witch Hunters will apear. Beat them in a fistfight. |

![]() Head to the Stables Afterward, meet with Triss and Albert at the stables located to the north. A cutscene will occur where Triss and Albert escape. |
