The Type of a Monster will determine what Oil it is weak against. For example, Monsters of the Necrophage Type will receive 10% extra damage from Swords coated in Necrophage oil.

The best way to deal with a Fire Elemental is to remove its flames using different means and attack it. You can do this by casting the Aard Sign to temporarily remove its flames. You can also throw Northern Wind Bombs to extinguish their flames and freeze them in place give you a lot of time to position yourself and attack them.
You should use your Silver Sword and coat it with Elementa oil to deal bonus damage to them. Prepare Dimeritium Bombs to seal some of its attacks and Northern Wind Bombs to remove its flames and freeze it in place.
