How to Unlock The Truth is in the Stars
Head to Oxenfurt's notice board and read the posting called Careful! There's a Swindler About!.
You can also begin the quest straight away by heading to the town of Benek on the Eastern part of Velen and talking to the Old Sage.
Is The Truth is in the Stars Missable or Failable?
You can miss this quest if you don't read the posting in Oxenfurt or talk to the Old Sage.
You can also fail this quest if you select Not gonna run around picking magic roots while talking to the Old Sage.

| Objectives | |

| 1 | Head to Oxenfurt's notice board and read the posting called Careful! There's a Swindler About!. Oxenfurt is located on the eastern side of Velen, northeast of Stonecutters' Settlement. |
| 2 | Follow the objective marker to Benek, a small settlement far south of Oxenfurt, and east of Reardon Manor. |
| 3 | Talk to the Old Sage. Pick the dialogue option I'll see what I can do. Note: Choosing ''Not gonna run around picking magic roots'' immediately fails the quest. |
| 4 | Follow the objective marker southeast till you come across a cave. Go inside. |
| 5 | Follow the cave's path till you see a group of Ghouls. Defeat them. |
| 6 | Use your Witcher senses to find the Dragonsroot nearby. |
| 7 | Bring the Dragonsroot back to the Old Safe in Benek to end the quest. |
