You can get this quest by taking the notice from the notice board in Oxenfurt. Alternatively, you can also start this quest by challenging any of the three innkeepers at the Alchemy Inn, the Kingfisher Inn, or the Inn at the Crossroads.

 Go to The Alchemy Inn Visit the Alchemy Inn in Oxenfurt and talk to Stjepan at the counter to play against him in Gwent. |

 Play Stjepan Stjepan uses a Nilfgaardian Empire deck that utilizes Spy cards to gain card advantage over you. You can use these Spy cards to gain more points than Stjepan and win a round or use Decoys to take the Spy cards and use them yourself to draw cards from your deck. |

 Go to the Kingfisher Inn Head to the Kingfisher Inn in Novigrad and challenge Olivier to a game of Gwent. |

 Play Olivier Olivier uses a Monsters deck that has cards with Muster, which summons multiple cards with the same name from his deck to the field. However most of his Muster cards are Close Combat cards, so you can use Biting Frost to reduce their card values. |

 Play the Innkeep The Innkeep plays a Nilfgaardian empire deck that uses cards with the Medic ability, which takes a card from their discard pile and places it on the field, and Commander's Horns to double the strength of his cards. You can play a low amount of cards in the first round so that his Medic cards can't activate their effects in the next round, and you can use Scorch to remove cards strengthened by a Commander's Horn. |
