You can start this quest by finding the notice for it on the Notice Board in Kaer Trolde Harbor.

This quest can not be failed.

Walkthrough
| Objectives | |
|---|---|
| 1 | Find the theives camp in the marked location south of Miner's Camp. The theives camp is near the obelisk. |
| 2 | Kill the 4 renegade Skellligers. |
| 3 | On the corpse of one of the bandtis is the item Theif's journal. Loot and read it. |
| 4 | Go to the fortress located west of Fyresdal. |
| 5 | Kill 4 more bandits. |
| 6 | Loot one of the bodies for another Theif's journal. Read the journal to find out the next location of the sword. |
| 7 | Head to Whale Graveyard on the shore north of Druid's Camp. |
| 8 | Kill another group of 4 bandits. |
| 9 | Loot the sword Kului off one of the corpses. |
| 10 | Bring the sword to Kaer Trolde and give it to the marked guardsman. You will be rewarded with 75 XP and 20 Crowns for completing the quest. |
Is The Family Blade Worth It?
The Family Blade is not worth doing
We do not recommend doing this quest. The benefits that you gain from this quest are not very useful for your progression in the game. Finishing this quest will be mainly for the sake of the game's completion and to have more knowledge about the Witcher World.
