How to Unlock Wild at Heart
Pick up and read the Notice Missing Wife on the Notice Boards around Velen.
Is Wild at Heart Missable or Failable?
You cannot miss or fail this quest even if you finish all the main quests in the game.
Wild at Heart Walkthrough

| 3 | Go to the quest location, kill the wolves and speak with Margrit. |
| 4 | Investigate the clues in the area using your Witcher Senses. |
| 5 | Follow the scent of the tuft of fur using your Witcher Senses. |
| 6 | Investigate inside and around the Isolated Hut using you Witcher Senses. |
| 7 | Enter the Werewolf's lair under the Isolated Hut. |
| 8 | Defeat the Werewolf during night time. |
| 9 | Decide Margrit's fate. |
Wild at Heart Choices and Best Choice
Choices
Objective 3: Margrit's Offer
After you kill the pack of wolves in the forest, Margrit will approach you and offer you a higher gold reward if you tell Niellen that Hanna had already died. If you agreed to Margrit's offer, you will get 50 additional Crowns from Magrit before returning to Niellen.
Objective 9: Margrit's Fate
After the first time you defeat the Werewolf, Margrit will suddenly appear in the cave and stop you from killing the Werewolf. In this conversation you will discover what really happened to Hanna and you will be given a choice to decide the fate of Margit.
If you pick the first option, Geralt will tell Margrit to run away and you will be forced to fight the Werewolf again with its remaining HP from the last fight.
If you pick the second option, Geralt will leave the Werewolf to kill Margrit and once Geralt goes outside the cave, the Werewolf will ask Geralt to kill him.
In both, options you can loot Niellen's key from the Werewolf's body and open his chest inside the Isolated hut.
Best Choice
Do not Take Margrit's Offer
It is best to not take the offer to be able to get to the next decision.
Protect Margrit from the Werewolf or Let the Werewolf have Margrit
Killing the werewolf while protecting Margrit will give you more rewards. But if the player would like to skip the werewolf fight to save time, the second option will have the same rewards but without the werewolf ingredients.
Wild at Heart Tips and Strategies
Combat Strategies
Wolves
- Coat your Steel Sword with Beast Oil to deal bonus damage to them.
- Cast the Aard, Igni, Yrden Signs to be able to deal with the multiple wolves and give yourself multiple openings to attack.
Werewolf
- Coat your Silver Sword with Cursed Oil to deal bonus damage to them.
- Cast the Igni Sign to brun them and give yourself a big opening to attack.
- If they start regenerating throw a Devil's Puffball Bomb to poison them and stop their regeneration.
- When you fight this werewolf, it will bring 3 wolves with it. You can deal with the wolves in the same way you deal with normal wolves but you must use your Silver Sword.
Wild at Heart is not worth doing
We do not recommend doing this quest. The benefits that you gain from this quest are not very useful for your progression in the game. Finishing this quest will be mainly for the sake of the game's completion and to have more knowledge about the Witcher World.
