The chapter 16 strat allows you to have 3 players, that's 9 more materia you can be leveling up at the same time.
Rough guide is reset skill weapon so cloud is max out magic and Materia slot on all characters, no defense needed. Lvl up magnifying first with AP plus and link that with Firaga on cloud. Max out first strike Materia and atb boost and feather accessory will give cloud ability to use magnifying firaga 3 times, allow you to end the round before anyone mob can hit you. You gain so much experience that you be lvl 50 in 30 mins and max out about 40-50 materia in about 2 hours.
Chapter 14 Corneo Colesium 3v3 is the best on first play through before heading to Shinra HQ, by that time you have all the essential Materia you want to lvl up and still do stuff around Midgard to not get bored. My best time is 36 seconds for 5 round, giving me around 180 AP on my all my Materia and 360 AP plus. You have free MPs and HPs after each rounds so saving a lot of time and Gil on ethers.
I was able to do it in 4 seconds with Tifa on easy mode. Might as well do it on easy since it doesn’t affect the ap you get
I don’t know about that. I remember a specific scene with Tifa that led to a “affection increased” in light red letters pop up at one point. You also had similar decisions, such as whether to talk to aerith or Tifa first after ending up falling into the sewers. Only thing it could mean is 1. Lazy development of an affection system they began implementing but decided against it and forgot to take away a few things or 2. Its a planned prelude to the gold saucer date.
Obviously in post game, go to simulator in chapter 17. Do the two person vs team High Flyers on easy mode (Makes the fights a breeze), I use Barrett and Cloud and it takes about a minute and a half (My fastest time is 1:09) With the AP+ attached to a Materia that's 378 AP in less than a minute and a half. Why spend 4+ minutes for less AP, when you can spend less than a minute and a half and get MORE AP is beyond me.
It will mostly be another standalone game nothing will carry over probably just get a couple extra perks if you have a previous saved file. Makes no sense to carry over due to everything already done in part one That's nothing to do in part two and fourth

yeah, I won't be surprised if the part 2 will have restriction in carry over feature. for example, it will automatically read (hidden) data from chapter 18 save files. NOT the chapter selection manual save files. other possibility is that all will carry over with max lv50, but that OP accessory will be nerfed. it can be used in Classic/Easy difficulty only.
I have a feeling we won't be able to carry forward all our progress, unless they implement some kind of nightmare impossible difficulty. The endgame limit break accessory basically breaks the game, and the only thing more OP would be allowing you to have more than one of them. Going in with millions of banked xp and gil would also make things kind of ridiculous.
Is anyone ready to tackle part 2 with a maxed-out party level with maxed out materias?
I miss magic jars. Those critters that give a shitton of AP per kill.
