I like the game play but I keep hearing things that square changed the story? Sorry, not familiar, first time playing FF7. I know it's a remake. So, they did change stuff. I see.
Was one of the people excited for the remake. After hearing how they botched the story, will probably just wait for part 2. Even if it takes years to develop.
Well what did u guys expect from a 40 hour game made to cover a 4 hour portion of the original game?

Not a fan of fillers. It gradually destroys the main story, imo. Moreover, extensions do not bring justice either. It just stretches unnecessary story elements and who knows where the story going. Felt bad for the original story.
And this is kind of a future thing but the way they made the game, the mechanics are clearly made for part 1 only. After leaving midgar, what happens to the mercenary quests? The vr battles? This is why Im skeptical with the part 2. They changed story and the game will have to adjust big time with all the features they added in part 1 not being carriable to part 2. Remember that returning to midgar will not happen soon after leaving and doesnt really give any merit in doing so.
The impact would be weakened. I like Jessie and all but I don't know how to feel about the other characters that were supposed to be gone in the original.
I browse a Facebook group and I yeah, I guess that's they're doing. Everyone keeps talking about Jessie. Not so much about the main characters. FF7 charms fans with the story, though. I hope they didn't change it or at least didn't change a lot. But, they did.
They really fleshed it out with jessir and cloud's flirting. Too much airtime for a dead girl.

A lot of people were sad. But I clearly understand where they're coming from since they really made Jessie a likable character. But I just cant get it out of my mind that all the airtimes and screentime she took could have been used to expand the game past midgar instead. I can't bring myself to like her due to that.
Is Jessie gonna be the new Aerith now? Everyone seems to really like her and I bet a ton of people are gonna be sad if she's permanently gone
The game is actually good! It's so good the only complains we really have is the story alteration. It could have been a perfect game (despite being 1/3rd or 1/4th of a game) so why did they have to do that? Why change a masterpiece of a story? As a lot of my friends say, don't fix what isn't broken.
They also made it that biggs survives the plate destruction so what happens to barret now when he goes to cosmo canyon? His "All my allies died fighting for a cause" is now severely weakened since only Jessie was the one confirmed to die.
ugh do they really not flesh out the main cast? That's what I was most excited for with the remake :(
I guess that's true. a lot of people are complaining about the changes to the story, but I bet a whole bunch of people are happy to see
Clearly hinted that nanaki's ending 500 years later might not happen. Meteor might not happen. Aerith might not die ( lots of people that clearly did not appreciate the core plot of the original will be happy with this).
Ff7 remake What I expected: much more fleshed out characters, some screen times to ambigious characters from the other ff7 spinoffs (remember Cissnei anyone?) What I got: some unknown soldier dudes , a bigtime geisha in midgar, some pretty girls and boys and some jockeys. And jessie flirting with cloud 24/7. AND HUGE STORY ALTERATIONS. CLEARLY IMPLYING KEY PLOT POINTS POSSIBLY NOT HAPPENING ANYMORE.
Agreed. And about the graphics, I think it's part of its charm. It forces you to use your imagination.
Yeah, but I mean like it's really easy compared to Normal. I just wanted a little less challenge, instead of a glorified story mode
They really changed the story bigtime in the ending. If u wanna enjoy the true ff7, you'll have to mind the 1997 graphics and play the original game. The game is good but the way they handled it, you can only really enjoy it if you played the original (which kinda beats their own statement that the game is both for old and new players alike)

Anyone else playing through the game on easy? Is it just me or is the mode a little bit too easy...
Ditto. Here I was just waiting for a proper remake or even just as a remaster of his favorite childhood game, and woop, turns out it's a secret kingdom hearts game
Only time will tell man. Square rwlly forcing people to not spol the game even tho some people are begging to be spoiled.
Game is amazing but the ending is really questionable.

It's really as bad as that other guy mentioned: there's way too much filler in this game.
nahhh I think that dude was just exaggerating, the game's still really fun for me. You should definitely still get it
Aw man that sucks to hear. Can anyone else confirm if the game feels like mostly filler? I'm still deciding on whether I should pick it up or not
