The Podao is a thick-walled, wide curved sword. It was easy to obtain and was a favorite of bandits and field thieves. Since it is made of brittle steel collected from farm tools, the blade is wide and designed to be difficult to break.

It is basically used as a sword to cut through people, and although it is not sharp enough to be called a sword, it is a valuable weapon for those of lowly birth living in a turbulent world.
