How to Clear XC Golf Courses

Clearing the XC Golf Courses in Ridgerock Lake is no easy task. This unique game mode will allow the player to start from any hole they wish. What's important to keep in mind on this course is the varying elevations. Making use of the many Tornadoes that line the map will be key to completing these courses.

Strategizing your route and position are equally important. Keep in mind that XC Golf is about positioning and avoiding hazards, not about speed.

How to Clear XC Golf Guide

Utilize tornadoes to go up layers

Tornadoes are used to go up a layer. Hit your ball at a tornado for it to be carried to the higher layer. Always utilize tornadoes to go up layers. Even if it seems like you can hit the ball up a layer without use of a tornado, you still run the risk of your ball ricocheting off to an even worse position.

How to Use Tornadoes

Use Range Finder For Accurate Positioning

The Range Finder helps you determine the exact distance between yourself and the target on your reticle, so you can use this to measure distance between where you are and where you want to position yourself next, before setting the power of your next shot. This is helpful for setting up shots into tornadoes.

How to Clear this Course

Just like with the previous courses, taking advantage of the Tornadoes will be key in conquering this course. However, the order in which you approach the nine holes in this course is equally important. Above is the order we used to clear the course. Try to make the first hole within 2-3 shots. This will give you more leeway in the later holes.

How to Clear the Tailwind Lesson

You can guarantee to get 10 points for every stroke by setting your power to 70 and adding a backspin to your shots.

How to Clear the Crosswinds Lesson

To complete this lesson with a perfect score, set your power just below the marked flag on your gauge and add a backspin to your shots.

How to Clear the Headwind Lesson

To get 10 points for every stroke, set your power slightly above the marked flag on your gauge and add a backspin to your shots.

How to Clear the Backspin Lesson

You can complete the backspin lesson with a perfect score by setting your power exactly at the marked flag on your gauge and adding a backspin to your shots.

How to Clear the Topspin Lesson

The Topspin lesson is tricky to master because the ball tends to swerve to the right. Instead of aiming for a perfect score, we suggest going for 5 strokes of 8 points to get the 40 points needed to pass the lesson. To get 8 points per stroke, simply set your power to around 50 and add a topspin.

How to Clear the Practice Area Challenges

The Practice Area Challenges in Ridgerock Lake are similar to ones in Bonny Greens, but with added difficulty. Before you can attempt the challenges in Ridgerock Lake, you first need complete the challenges in Bonny Greens.

How to Clear the Tee-Shot Challenge

To get 10 points for every stroke in the challenge, go to overhead view before launching your ball and move your aim slightly to the right until the path line goes over the 10-point section of the circle. Set your power to 150 for the first 5 shots but set it to 180 for the last 5 shots. Remember to add a backspin to each stroke.

How to Clear the Approach-Shot Challenge

You can get a perfect score in this challenge by setting your power to around 30-40 and adding a backspin to each of your shots.

How to Clear the Putting Challenge

The Putting Challenge is rather difficult since the ball does not travel in a straight line. For holes with the same elevation, go to overhead view and aim slightly to the left until the path line is at the edge of the orange circle and set your power between 25 -50.

For uphill holes, aim slightly to the right until the path line is at the edge of the light blue circle and set your power to 50. For downhill holes, aim slightly to the left until the path line is at the edge of the light blue circle and set your power to 25.

Hazards and Obstacles Encountered

Obstacles and Hazards
Water Hazard	If your shot lands in the water, your score will get a +1 in addtion to a penalty shot.
Trees	Trees can stand in the way of your shot.
Bunkers	Landing in a bunker will hinder your control and will require more power in the next shot to get back out.
Brolders	Brolders may hit you interrupting your shot giving a +1 to your score.
Ty-Foos	Ty-Foos can blow your shot off course with their powerful breath.

Extreme Winds

Ridgerock Lake is an extremely windy course with several obstacles and tornadoes that can also blow your ball off course. However, the windy nature or Ridgerock Lake can also be used to the player's advantage if used correctly.
