Mario Golf: Super Rush is all about holding and swinging your golf club, so it's best to use your dominant hand (or through a character's hands) to match your playstyle, whether it be left or right-handed. This will especially help to make your swings feel more natural when using motion controls.

Properly Holding the Controller

When using motion controls, it is best when your body is standing up facing the television screen. Hold either Joy-Con in your non-dominant hand and place your dominant hand alongside it. Place your thumb on the SL Button and hold the controller so that the SL Button is facing upward.

There is no difference in gameplay when switching your character's dominant hand. It will merely change your character's position and the hand they use when handling a golf club.

How to Switch Between Left-Handed and Right-Handed

You can choose whether to have a left-handed or right-handed gameplay experience in Mario Golf: Super Rush.

For Golf Adventure, open the Options from the Main Menu and head to the Handedness section. You can then switch between Left-Handed and Right-Handed for your Mii character.

For Golf modes other than Golf Adventure, you can switch any character's dominant hand during the character selection by pressing the Y button.
