The younger end of the duo with Biggs, Wedge has a big heart, but is a bit timid and has a tendency to get bossed around within Avalanche.
Wedge and his compatriot Biggs are found frequently throughout the Final Fantasy series, though their apperance and life situation differs between each title.

Warning: Spoilers ahead!
In the aftermath of the fall of Sector 7 Plate, Cloud, Barret, and Tifa runs into one of Wedge's cats, which guides them to the rumored underground Shinra laboratory. They find Wedge in one of the rooms and rescues him after defeating the Failed Experiment and countless of Unknown Entities. Cloud and the others go back to the surface and Wedge is taken to safety at the end of Chapter 13.
After managing to survive from multiple wounds, Wedge is seen alive and well again inside the Shinra Tower in Chapter 17.
