When to Change Jobs

Forced Job Changes at Chapter 2 and 3

At the start of Chapter 2 and 3, you will be required to change into a different job. You cannot change to a job you have previously used, and in the case of Chapter 3 the job you pick will be carried over until the end of Chapter 4.

Recommendations for the First Job Change

Job	Personality / Explanation
Cat	Hero: Cool ・Invest leveling this job now for use in the future ・Stealing food will be a useful skill to have in the later chapters
Scientist	Companion 1: Cool ・Very good choice for your main team in later chapters ・Has area-of-effect attacks and other useful support abilities
Mage	Companion 2: Cool ・High magic damage, but be mindful of MP consumption
Warrior	Companion 3: Cool ・Easy to use, even under the control of the AI

Job Change freely after a portion of Chapter 4

After saving 3 of your friends in Chapter 4 you will now have the ability to change into any job you like, whenever you like.

It's important to note that each job has its own level, so changing to a job you've used before puts your character on the same level as when you last used it. On the other hand, changing into a job that you have not used yet will set your level back to 1.

How to Change Jobs

Go to an inn

Job changing is done at an inn. If you've left the inn, you can go back in by by pressing X to open up the Menu and selecting the 'Go to Inn' option.

Select 'Party' from the Menu

When you're inside the inn, press X to open up the Menu and select the 'Party' option

Choose a character for job changing

The Party screen will show you the roster of characters. Select the character you want and press on the New job option.

Select the job you want for the character

The job change screen will show up after the step above, and you can now choose a different job for your character. Keep in mind that changing to a that the character hasn't used yet will bring you back to level 1.
