The end of Luigi's Mansion 2 HD sees the defeat of King Boo, Luigi releases Mario from his photographic prison, and the Dark Moon's restoration. Keep reading to learn more about the ending of the game, what to do after finishing the main campaign, and other things you can do in the post-game.

After a tough fight with King Boo, Luigi captures him and his crown's gem is now for Luigi's taking. The illusion will then wear off and we're left with Luigi and Mario's portrait at the Treacherous Mansion. E-Gadd will then arrive and tells Luigi to use the Darklight on the portrait.
How to Beat King Boo's Illusion
After shining the Darklight to free Mario and the Toads fixing the Dark Moon, all of the Ghosts in Evershade Valley and everything goes back to normal! Feeling accomplished, Luigi and everyone else pose for a group photo!
Luigi will then return to his mansion from the first game with his new buddy the Polterpup! The credits roll showing Luigi returning to Evershade Valley and hanging out with E. Gadd, the Toads, and the Ghosts he encountered along the journey!
The ScareScraper is the game's multiplayer mode where up to four players can climb up and hunt ghosts together. There are multiple modes to choose from, so climb the tower and get all the alternate forms of all the ghosts!
Multiplayer Guide: How to Play ScareScraper
Each mansion has 13 gems hidden within them that you can find while going through the missions. Finding all 13 gems in a mansion will reward you with a Luigi statue, for a total of 5 Luigi statues that you can earn.
Gem Locations: How to Find All Gems
Each regular mission contains one hidden Boo that you can find using your Dark-Light Device. Collecting all Boos in a mansion unlocks a bonus mission, which you also need to complete in order to 100% the game.
Boo Locations: Where to Find All Boos
Once you've completed 100% of the game, three E. Gadd medals should be displayed on your profile. Each medal can be obtained by completing certain sections of the game.
One medal can be obtained by completing the all Dark Moon Quest missions. Another medal is obtained by getting a 3-star rank on each of the missions. The third medal can be obtained by completing the vault, which includes finding all of the collectibles and getting all of the equipment upgrades.
100% Checklist
All the factors that can affect your rank are listed down at the end of the mission: your clear time, number of ghosts captured, amount of health lost, and treasure collected.
To earn a high rank, you need to keep your clear time and health lost low, while getting a high number of ghosts captured and treasure.
