Hostile Intrusion Walkthrough and How to Unlock

A walkthrough for Hostile Intrusion in Luigi's Mansion 2 HD (Dark Moon) for the Nintendo Switch. Read on for a detailed guide for Hostile Intrusion, including how to get 3 stars, and how to unlock the Hostile Intrusion bonus mission!

How to Unlock Hostile Intrusion

The Bonus Mission, Hostile Intrusion, is unlocked by capturing all the Boos in the Haunted Towers. Additionally you would have to complete the Boss stage for the respective mansion to unlock the bonus mission.

	B-1 A Job for a Plumber	MamBoo	25	Room: Hydro Generator Enter the hydro generator and use the Dark-Light Device in the east side of the room, where a drawer originally was. The drawer is on the left side of the chest, then suck up all the spirit balls to reveal the Boo.
	B-2 The Pinwheel Gate	Boolean	25	Room: Sewer Enter the sewer and pull the flower near the entrance. Be careful not to get damaged by the spirit balls thrown by the Boo.
	B-3 Graveyard Shift	Booluga	25	Room: Crypt Enter the crypt, bring down the north wall by pulling the vine stuck to it, and use the Dark-Light Device on the right side of the unlocked area, opposite the vase on the left, where a vase originally was. Suck up all the spirit balls to reveal the Boo.
	B-4 Pool Party	Boo B. Trap	25	Room: Family Room Enter the family room and use the Dark-Light Device on the left side of the kitchen area of the room, where a drawer originally was. The drawer is beside the sink, then suck up all the spirit balls to reveal the Boo.
	B-5 Doggone Key	French Boodle	25	Room: Tool Shed Enter the tool shed and use the Dark-Light Device on the drawer on the north side, and a ghost pup will appear. Chase the pup in the garden, reenter the tool shed, use the Dark-Light Device all around the room to reveal all the furniture, and suck up all the spirit balls to reveal the Boo.

Capture All the Ghosts as Soon as Possible!

This bonus mission is similar to the Gradual Infiltration found in Gloomy Manor.

The ghosts that appear during this bonus mission may appear at different locations across multiple attempts. Check your map to see which areas are infested with ghosts.

Rush towards the first room in your list. Use your Strobulb to stun ghosts, and reel them in with a fully charged Poltergust A-Pull. Next two rooms will given after clearing the first room.

Strategically choose the room closer to your current room to save time. After clearing both rooms, you will receive the third list of infested rooms. This time it will be 3 infested rooms. After clearing the last set of rooms, the bonus mission will end.

Gem #1 (Circle Emerald)

Where to Find	Tower Lobby

Head towards the area behind the first flight of stairs in the Tower Lobby. From there, acquire the gem you find in the area.

Gem #2 (Triangle Emerald)

Use a bulb to access the floor above you. Float towards the west portion of the area, and descend down the opening of the tank. From there, vacuum the webs surrounding the gem and acquire it.

Gem #3 (Rectangle Emerald)

Where to Find	Garden

Use the Poltergust to water the flower located on the southeast portion of the area. After the flower blooms, flash it with the Strobulb to reveal the hidden gem.

Use the Poltergust to water the flower located on the northeast portion of the area. After watering the flower on the left and waiting for it to bloom, flash it with the Strobulb to reveal the hidden gem.

Where to Find	Seedling Laboratory

Proceed towards the shooter mechanism in the area, and shoot the mouse dashing around the room. Hitting it will grant you the hidden gem.

Gem #6 (Stone Emerald)

Where to Find	West Garden

Once you've gained access to the Maintenance area, fix the pipes by the stairs, then shoot a seed pod towards the giant flytrap in the area. From there, proceed towards the chest to acquire the hidden gem.

Where to Find	Hollow Tree

After the cutscene where Luigi goes down with a web, suck up a web ball, set it on fire with the torch, and head to the west cave to burn down the cobwebs.
Then, grab the bucket, fill it with water in the pond in the middle, water the flower in the east cave, use the Strobulb on the flower, and it will drop the Rhombus Emerald.

Where to Find	Old Graveyard

Upon entering the old graveyard, use the Poltergust to suck the Star Emerald that is hanging on a vine.

Where to Find	Skybridge

Head towards the Skybridge, avoid the attacks of the deadly plants, and after sucking up the third plant, it will drop the Octagon Emerald.

Gem #10 (Oval Emerald)

Where to Find	Rumpus Room

Head up to the Rumpus Room, walk around the big doll on the west side that is watching you until its head falls off, and the Oval Emerald will drop.

Where to Find	Solarium

Head towards the Solarium, use the Dark-Light Device on the table in the north where a chest originally was, and open the chest to obtain the Spinde Emerald.

Gem #13 (Mushroom Emerald)

Where to Find	West Bathroom

Enter the west bathroom after getting a key for it, defeat all the enemies inside, pull the toilet paper on the west wall, and a Mushroom Emerald will drop.
