Luigi can heal off damage by collecting hearts in Luigi's Mansion 2 HD (Dark Moon). Read on for more information on how to heal, where to get hearts, and how it affects health lost.
List of Contents
Hearts can be found randomly in various places within the environment, similar to treasure. Make sure to use your Poltergust 5000 and all of it's features to find hearts
Vacuum up any loose objects, flash the Strobulb on anything photosensitive, investigate drawers, and capture ghosts for a chance to find hearts.
Food items like pumpkins and watermelons are more commonly found in ScareScraper Mode. These items are reliable sources of hearts, which you can get by vacuuming and launching them out to break them.
ScareScraper Guide: How to Play Multiplayer
Both ghost and non-ghost enemies have a chance to drop hearts when defeated. Although, this is a more risky way to get hearts if you're running low, since enemies can also hurt Luigi if you're not careful.
During boss battles, you can replenish your health by drawing out the boss ghost, vacuuming it up, and pressing A once the Power Gauge is full. Each time you do this before landing the finishing blow, the boss should drop hearts.
Picking up a Gold Bone allows Luigi to be automatically revived with full health if he happens to lose all his health during a mission. You can only find one Gold Bone per mission, so it's best to rely on finding hearts in order to heal.
Death Penalty: What Happens If You Get a Game Over?
Any health you've regained in the mission will not affect your total health lost on the mission results screen at the end of the mission. It will always show how much health you've lost in total without considering any health gained. This means it's possible to have over 100 health lost for a mission.
Ranking System Explained: How to Get 3-Stars
Each heart that Luigi collects can replenish his health by 20 points. However, his health cannot increase beyond the maximum 100. Picking up hearts while Luigi is at full HP will not do anything.
