Description This is it, Luigi. It's time to stop King Boo for good and rescue your brother.

  1. Defeat King Boo and Save Mario

Defeat King Boo and Save Mario

This is it. All you have to do is defeat King Boo over the course of a 5-Phased Boss fight. Once defeated, use the Dark-Light Device on the painting trapping Mario and the game concludes.

Phase 1

Luigi

King Boo will start the battle by slamming onto the floor and summoning three spiked balls. Avoid the spiked balls and King Boo, and stun him with your Strobulb when he is under a spiked ball, which casts an easily identifyable shadow. After a spiked ball lands on King Boo, vacuum him to deplete his HP.

Phase 2

Luigi

The next phase of this battle involves King Boo rolling on the left side of the screen while Luigi tries to run and escape to the right while avoiding obstacles.

Avoid the obstacles and get as far away from King Boo as you can until you reach the end of this phase.

Phase 3

Luigi
This phase is similar to phase 1, but with King Boo transforming some of the tiles into sand and ice, with some of the spiked balls being dropped being larger.

Follow the same steps as phase 1, deplete King Boo's HP, then prepare for the next phase.

Phase 4

Luigi

Phase 4 is largely similar to phase 2. Run from King Boo while avoiding obstacles. Some parts of the stage will be completely dark, so be sure to equip your flashlight to safely navigate through the obstacles.

Phase 5

Luigi
The final phase of this battle will have King Boo electrify all but one tile three times. After the third time he electrifies the tiles, he will transform some of the tiles into sand or ice, but this time also spikes.

Like phases 1 and 3, wait for a spiked ball to fall on King Boo which he will sometimes dodge. After a spiked ball successfully lands on him, deplete his HP.

A spiked ball will sometimes roll on Luigi, allowing King Boo to escape. Repeat this process as many times as needed until King Boo's HP is completely depleted.

Once his HP is completely gone, finally capture King Boo! Enjoy the ensuing cutscene and ending!
