The Dark-Light Device is one of Luigi's equipment in Luigi's Mansion 2 HD. Read on to learn more about the Dark-Light Device, how to unlock and use it, as well as the available upgrades for this equipment!
List of Contents
You will unlock the Dark-Light Device in A-4 Visual Tricks in the Gloomy Manor, where you will encounter objects that are hidden in plain sight.
Completing this level will also unlock the game's ScareScraper mode in the Bunker.
Holding the Y button will make the Dark-Light Device emit a rainbow-colored light. This light reveals any hidden objects inside rooms.
You can also shine rainbow light to follow Polterpup tracks in Polterpup Mode at the ScareScraper, or get treasure or rescue Toads that are trapped behind paintings.
If you reveal a hidden object with the Dark-Light Device, Spirit Balls will appear out of the object. Use your Poltergust to suck the Spirit Balls to make the objects visible.
The Dark-Light Device has a meter which is used up as you use it. You will not be able to use the device if you drain the meter, and you will need to wait for it to fully replenish before you can use it again.
To avoid this, make sure to not hold the button all the time so the meter can charge up again.
Collecting a set amount of treasure and loot will extend the Dark-Light Device's meter, allowing you to use it for longer before the meter depletes.
