1. Find and Retrieve the Dark Moon Piece

You will begin the mission in the Workshop Landing. Activate the door with your strobe light, then enter to encounter the Shrewd Possessor.

How to Beat the Ice Boss

How to Beat the Ice Boss General Tips
Uncover the ice monster's face using the sled-mounted shooter. Do not overheat the shooter. Destroy the ice panels before they regenerate.

Phase 1

Luigi must fire bombs using the sled-mounted shooter at the panels covering the Shrewd Possessor's face. The boss will dive deeper into the pit as you destroy more panels, and will regenerate panels if you take too long. Be careful not to fire too many bombs, as this will cause the machine to overheat, resulting in a Game Over.

Carefully aim at all the sheets and destroy them. Once they are gone, shoot a bomb into the boss's mouth to end this phase of the stage.

Phase 2

Once exposed, the Shrewd Possessor will attempt to charge at you. Evade it while watching out for the portals that open. The portals' locations will clue you into what direction the boss will go. Use this information to dodge and try to capture it when it's vulnerable. It will escape into the ice and start the next phase.

Phase 3

This phase is similar to the first one, but with an added layer of panels covering the boss's face. Shoot bombs at the panels to uncover its face, and then one more bomb at its mouth to beat this phase.

Phases 4, 5, and 6

The next phases are repeats of phases 2 and 3. Dodge the boss when it charges at you, attempt to catch it, then it will flee for a third time. Carefully aim the sled shooter at the ice panels, reveal the boss's face, toss a bomb in its mouth to beat it.

The boss will be on its last legs afterwards. Evade its charges then capture it when it's vulnerable.

You will then be able to obtain the Dark Moon piece.
