Players can get trapped by carpets and vases or even get cursed in the ScareScraper mode in Luigi's Mansion 2 HD. Read on to learn more about the traps and curses in the game, as well as how to escape from them!
A carpet can trap players if they step on it. The Luigi trapped in a carpet will not be able to move or get out of the trap on their own.
Players checking a vase can get stuck, making them unable to move. A trapped Luigi will also not be able to get out of the vase on their own.
Ghosts will also appear if a player gets trapped in a vase and can attack the trapped Luigi.
There is a small chance that checking an object will inflict a curse on Luigi. If this happens, the affected player will have a skull icon on top of them.
While cursed, the affected Luigi will have their controls reversed, and they can also pass down the curse to another player.
Both carpet and vase traps and curses can only appear in multiplayer ScareScraper runs.
If you are going to start a solo run in any game mode, you will not encounter any traps or curses, so playing alone will be a little bit easier.

To save a Luigi who has been trapped by a carpet or vase, another player must use their Poltergust and perform an A-Pull on a nearby object to free the trapped player.
For carpet traps, a player must use the Poltergust on the tassel to free Luigi. For vase traps, a cord must be pulled to free the affected player.
To free a Luigi from the effects of a curse, another player must shine their Dark-Light Device on the affected Luigi for a few seconds.
Be careful not to get close to the cursed Luigi, as you may also get affected by the curse!
