nice stuff here. there's an OVA and now there's a book. praying to the angels, i won't be disappointed here.
There is one. It's called On the Way to a Smile: Final Fantasy VII by Kazushige Nojima. It is available in Google Reads. But, It is not the complete story. The book is more of series of short stories taking place between the time of Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children.

Sometimes, I wonder why some gamers like to clear the game 100% In my case, when I'm pretty much done with the story, that's 100% clear to me now. XD But, I don't judge. Maybe, some are still up for more challenges or something?
