How to Blink

Do It When Enemy Emits A Blue Light

Command Input

You can do a Blink by tilting down the Left analog stick and pressing the Circle button at the same time when the enemy begins emitting a blue light.

When the enemy does emit the blue light, it's an indication that they will perform a powerful attack that cannot be avoided, or blocked normally. When done successfully, you will teleport behind the enemy and be able to perform an attack.

What Is Blinking

Teleport Behind Enemy

Stellar Blade - Blinking

Blink, when referenced in many games, refers to moving at a very fast pace to the point where it looks like teleporting or warping.

In Stellar Blade, Blinking allows you to teleport behind the enemy when certain conditions are met. After said teleportation, you can attack the enemy from its back.

Collect Burst Energy

Stellar Blade - Burst Skill

When a Blink is executed successfully, your Burst Energy charge will accumulate. You can use your Burst Energy to perform Burst Skills, which are very powerful combo finishers.

Blink Tips

Wait for Eve's Weapon to Turn Blue

Stellar Blade - Blinking Blue Light

Correct Timing for Blink
Enemy Emits Purple Light Weapon Glows Blue Blink!

The correct way to successfully perform Blink is by waiting for the enemy to emit a glowing blue light and then waiting for Eve's weapon to glow blue as well before doing the command input for Blink.

Once timed accurately, Bink will transport Eve to the back of the enemy, where she can then continue landing attacks on the enemy.

On the other hand, if you have missed the timing and hit the enemy immediately when it emitted the light without waiting for the weapon to turn blue, the attack will fail.

Unlock Threat Detection Skill

In the Skill Tree, next to Blink, is the Threat Detection Skill. Unlocking this skill will prove useful in successfully doing a Blink as it will extend the timing for the skill.

Blink Restrictions

Fails if the Stick Input is Wrong

Blink

Repulse
Tilt Down PS4 - Left Stick.png + PS4 - Circle Button.png

The input for Blink is closely related to the input for Repulse. Since Blink is sort of a QTE or a Quick Time Event button, failure to tilt the left stick in the correct direction or even timing the skill incorrectly will make the attack unsuccessful.

If done incorrectly, you will receive enemy damage as shown in the video above.

Can Only Be Activated When Enemy Emits Blue Light

Blink, cannot be activated normally in combat as it is only restricted to be used during an enemy's powerful attack, hence, the blue light.

It cannot be used to avoid normal attacks, but worry not as you can still avoid these enemy attacks with skills like Perfect Dodge and Perfect Parry.
